Tour Information
Introduction
Touring up and down and around the Snake and the Clearwater Rivers along some of the routes that Lewis and Clark took in the early 1800s. Registration for the tour will be on Sunday, June 7, and will end with a banquet on Friday night, June 12.
The tour committee is also offering an additional opportunity for our Franklin Family as a separate event, the opportunity to take a Jet Boat trip up the Snake River into Hells Canyon on June 13. Hells Canyon is the deepest river gorge in North America and there is a separate portion at the end of the registration form to sign up for this extra event.
The following information will help your stay and tour run smoothly. Listed below are a schedule of events, lodging information and a registration form with time sensitive material.
Attached are the registration instructions to be mailed back by May 1, 2026, or sooner.
Car trailer parking and unloading area will be provided for attendees.

Airports
Lewiston, Idaho - 5 miles (LWS), Pullman- Moscow - 45 miles (PUW), or Spokane, Washington - 120 miles (GEG).
Schedule of Events
Sunday, June 7: 3 - 5 pm. Registration in Hotel Lobby followed by a short local tour. Dinner on your own.
Monday, June 8: Drive along the Snake River downstream and eventually end up in Moscow, Idaho, for lunch. Return on back roads with a stop at Genesee, ID, to visit Quilt Museum
Tuesday, June 9: Follow part of the overland trip by Lewis Clark Expedition to Pomeroy, WA, for museum stops and lunch at the Pataha Flour Mill.
Wednesday, June 10: Travel upstream by the Clearwater River up to the Southwick Prairie and drop back down to the Clearwater River Dworshak Dam and on into Orofino, Idaho, for lunch at the city park. Then return to Lewiston via Highway 12.
Thursday, June 11: Go west through the Clarkston Heights towards the community of Peola or Field Springs Park and back to Clarkston area for lunch. After lunch the ladies will have a session by Susan Stutzman and Marcia Parish held at the lunch site and the men will travel to Pat Emerich's shop for a class of Pat's choosing.
Friday, June 12: Travel to Spalding Park to the Nez Perce Historic Museum for a quick look at the life of the Native American way of life and the Spalding family who came as missionaries. Lunch is on your own back in Lewiston. Banquet at the Hotel that evening.
Saturday, June 13: Optional Bonus Day tour in addition to original tour. For those who can stay an extra day we have planned a jet boat ride into Hells Canyon. The boats will hold 40 passengers each, leave at 9:00 am from the dock and return at 3:00 pm. Lunch will be served at a stop on the river. The cost is separate from the tour and reservations will be on a first-come basis.
Additional Information
Please let Alice Steffensen know if you will bring a donation item for our silent auction. The monies stay within the Westrek fund and are passed on to next year's tour coordinators.
